Good. I like open ends which allow the imagination to take the story further. Would like to read an expanded version that stays within the same time frame. Wondered about the phrase about squid ink black.Thought it might work better as just inky black. If you want to make the squid reference I feel as if it requires expanding upon, whilst just ‘inky black’ is a nice cross reference to the fact that it’s a work of literature.
Also…although the peice is well read by Cary, I feel that the opportunity might have been missed to present the work being read in partial shade and shadow, to conjure up the atmospher, and to add a bit of visual mystery.
